About Us
The Nakhon Si Thammarat Go Club (NST Go Club) operates under the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Sports Association, under the supervision of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), and is proudly supported by the Go Association of Thailand. We are committed to driving and elevating the Go community in Nakhon Si Thammarat and the southern region of Thailand to meet international standards through tournament organization, training programs, and continuous athlete development.
🏆 Key Missions and Achievements
1. Organizing Standardized Tournaments
We aim to create competitive arenas to develop players’ potential. Our tournaments are categorized into two main series:
- NST Go Club Series: A southern regional tournament held 5 times a year to scout and honor the finest Go players in the southern territory of Thailand.
- Nakhon Si Thammarat International Go Open: A prestigious international tournament supported by Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Nakhon Si Thammarat Office, the Pun Panya Foundation, and the Go Association of Thailand. This tournament is also a sanctioned ranking event under the “Thailand Go Super Series” by the Go Association of Thailand, serving to collect points for selecting national Go athletes to represent Thailand in future international competitions.
2. Scouting and Developing Provincial Athletes
The club has been entrusted by key official entities to scout and nurture youth toward professional athletic pathways:
- Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Sports Association: Has appointed the club to select provincial Go athletes to compete in the National Youth Games and the National Games.
- Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Office of Tourism and Sports: Has commissioned the club to build and develop Go athletes for the National Student and Youth Games.
🏅 Past Achievements: The club has successfully pioneered and developed Go athletes within schools under Local Administrative Organizations, resulting in numerous achievements and a collection of gold, silver, and bronze medals.
3. Promoting and Training the Game of Go
We believe that Go is a powerful tool for intellectual development. The club continuously organizes training and educational activities covering all levels—from primary and secondary schools to universities, as well as the general public—to expand the player base and cultivate a strong, vibrant Go community in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
